It’s been a while since I wrote anything about Pentaho Metadata. Not because there wasn’t anything going on, but because my time was spent on other BI topics. A whole team has been hard at work to iron out a lot of issues and improve usability as much as possible.
So even I was curious what would come out of the latest Pentaho 1.6RC1 release that was dropped off earlier this week.
As you can see, in a lot of ways we’ve come a long way from the early days of our meta-data platform.  It’s not just the main screen that received a make-over with new icons and better looks. Practically all dialogs had a face-lift.
I’m sure that there will be issues left to fix, but I’m also sure these will become smaller and smaller in the coming months and with your help we’ll have a nice first version.
So keep the bugs coming, file them on our updated JIRA platform (under Pentaho Metadata). Create an account if you don’t have one yet. Like most other things at Pentaho, this is completely Free!   Or, why not give us feedback on our metadata forum?
Until next time,
